💛 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

All month long, we’re collecting monetary and in-kind donations for our Childhood Cancer Awareness fundraiser. If you’re coming to market, consider bringing a donation and helping our community rally around an important cause.

September is here, and we’re kicking off the month with a market centered around good food, family, and community. 💚

Throughout the entire month of September, the West Point Farmers Market will be collecting monetary and in-kind donations for our Childhood Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. Look for the donation area at the market each Sunday and help us rally around children and families facing childhood cancer. 💛

Whether you come to fill your market bag, bring the kids for an activity, enjoy an apple, spend the morning with Grandma & Grandpa, or drop off a donation — every reason to gather strengthens our community.

Today, our community showed up.

What an incredible way to kick off our Childhood Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser at the West Point Farmers Market.

Today was just the beginning of a month-long effort benefiting children and families at University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital, and seeing our community come together already was pretty special.

The market was full of families. Kids were loving on the animals. Our donation table started filling with toys, blankets, books, activities and other gifts.

Thank you. Truly.

A huge thank you to Wilson Bros. BBQ & Catering for sponsoring today’s petting zoo and helping us welcome Anderson Ranch Mini's to the market! The animals were an absolute hit, and seeing the excitement on so many little faces was the perfect way to start this month of giving.

But we’re just getting started.

Throughout the entire month of September, we’ll be collecting new in-kind donations and monetary donations at every West Point Farmers Market for children and families at University of Iowa Health Care.

Wondering what to bring?
Ellie shared some especially great recommendations:

Blankets • Squishies • Fidgets • Sports balls • Cups, tumblers & water bottles • Baseball hats

All donated items must be NEW and meet the hospital’s donation guidelines, including coming from a smoke-free, dust-free and pet-free environment. Fabric items should be made from new materials and placed in a new, unscented plastic bag. Please do not gift wrap donations.

Because Anderson Ranch Mini’s will be joining us, there will be no regular Kiddie Korner this week — the animals are taking over the fun! 🐮
