Yes, this will be the 17th Townshend Farmers Market on Friday, which is 9/11. And this photo is of the bread from Bread from the Earth - doesn't it look yummy? (I know it is!) So when I mention bread, this is what you can now picture. We are hearing what vendors will be there over the course of the day, so I will post that list tomorrow. And the forecast for rain is tonight into Thursday, but still none forecast for Friday, so it should be a sunny gorgeous day!

The market is handicapped accessible, and welcome people of all ages, colors, sizes and even opinions - that makes for better conversations, right? Even well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. And get affection from strangers as well.

The Market starts at 4:30 pm, and pizza, tacos and music start at 5. And although it gets dark earlier every day now, I at least, will bring a lantern for my table!

and don't forget - is across the street and down the road a bit.. She is not doing the market this season because of personal issues, but is still part of the community!

This week will be our seventeenth Townshend Farmers Market! And for once, there is no rain in the forecast for Friday - but we know better than to trust it this far away, anyway! In case you ever wondered what I am talking about when I put "teddies" in a poem, these are some of the teddy bears that appear at the market! Huggable and soft to hold! And of course, when I know who the vendors will be later in the week, I will post the list!

Our sixteenth Farmers Market will be this Friday! This photo of goldenrod is from my yard, when I was a child I thought I was allergic to it, but it turns out it was ragweed, which is not nearly as pretty! This golden flowering plant is also here at the WRCP, right outside my window, and you can see it when you come to the market on Friday! And of course they have changed the forecast - now no rain for Friday!

This will be the 16th Townshend Farmers Market of the season! Yes, this photo is from early spring, but eggs are always available at the market - and many colors, too!
The weather today is rainy, which the farmers and fields are glad about, and although it predicts rain for Friday, you know, by now, how much I distrust a forecast this far away! Being a life-long New Englander does that to one's brain! ANd now tey ave already changed their mind from this morning!

I will post the vendors later in the week, as I always do! And want to invite everyone to come to market this Friday!

Yes, the corn at Farmers Market is grown locally - this is a picture from Taft Hill Farm! When you see it on their table, it's neat and tidy - but this is how it looks beforehand! And the midday rain - if it even happens, is supposed to be replaced with sunshine at 3! The two nonprofits that will be at the market today are Great Falls Food Hub and Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District!

Great Falls was at a market earlier this season, they buy things at the market and cook them on the spot! It is always interesting, and tasty I am told!

The Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District will have a booth as well. "We are interested in tabling for a day at the farmers market with informational materials and to share Windham County Conservation District’s annual survey with community members. Each year the district surveys the natural resource concerns of the community to inform our work to meet Windham County’s needs and concerns for the natural world. It would be great to promote the opportunity to take this survey and share the programs offered by the conservation district with community members at the Townshend farmers market this summer or fall!"

This week will be our 15th Townshend Farmers Market! And did you realize today is 4 months until Christmas? Come to market, get your gift shopping done early! These, funny enough, are the "winter" squash that will be at the Taft Hill table this week, too! That and sweet corn will be added to their usual goodies. I, of course, will update you with the list of vendors later in the week, when we know who will be attending!
