Our farmhouse is a traditional center-hall colonial. The front part of the house was built in 1812. When my father was as a kid, there was a wrap-around porch that made the house look completely different.

Barn doors; main barn, horse barn, side door of main barn, shop and milk house. When I was little, the milk house had the giant containers of milk and the shop used to house our milking cows. Swipe ——> Going solar on the farmstore! Our family has been enjoying passive solar energy since 1978, but now we have brand new solar panels on our farmstore. It’s very exciting and will help with our sustainability.

It’s hard being born in January when it’s 26 degrees F (-3.33 degrees C)! Luckily this little is thriving.

New calves weigh anywhere between 48-60 lbs and this little female was probably in the middle of that estimate. We were successful in helping her and her mother to the shelter as snow is expected today around 4pm.

‘Down front’ is where our Hereford cows live so this is from a walk down there towards the farmhouse and barn. We love the colors of winter. Makes walks on warmer days like today all the better.

Patty and Pammy were our strawberry roan colored Belgian draft horses. These shots were taken on December 28, 2011 and they were the most gentle and loving horses. Patty is in the first 2 images and Pammy is in the last 2. Their lashes and mane color were gorgeous.
