A Farm Visit
This past week, I had the pleasure of spending a morning with Haley, Tyler, and Wesley Hoadley at Hoadley Hills Farm. Walking onto their sprawling pastures and hearing the story of how they met—forging a future built on shared beliefs of healthy food and stewardship—I found myself longing for more time there. Knowing they got their start at Riverbank Farm, one of the most respected agricultural communities one could hope for, I understood immediately that their foundation of knowledge is built on the best of the best.

Watching the evolution of their farm, the family support they receive, and the ambitious plans they have for the future is deeply motivating. The chickens and turkeys were living the dream, idyllically enjoying the fresh pasture they are rotated onto every single day. The cows greeted us like old friends, while the hogs were lively, feisty, and hard at work clearing the next plot of land. When I asked why they go the extra mile to certify their chicken as organic, their answer was instant: ‘We raise what we would want to eat.’

I am already looking forward to my return visit. Haley and Tyler, the founders of Hoadley Hills, are raising nutrient-dense food using regenerative practices in South Kent, and I am proud to support them

“Of late, the news has been filled with what is wrong with our food. To be honest, I live in a state of wanting to talk about what is in the food in our grocery stores, what is wrong with the food system and how there are solutions right in front of us.

The reality is we have control - more control than we acknowledge or possibly know.

We have the power to choose food that is healthy for us and our environment. And the more we make the choice to shop local the more it becomes accessible for all.

It really is all up to us!
