We’re proud to share some exciting news about two Extra Virgin Olive Oils sourced from one of our most trusted producers in Portugal!

Two of the extra virgin olive oils we are lucky enough to have on our shelves, (our Picual and Cobrancosa) were awarded at the New York International Olive Oil Competition, earning Gold and Silver awards respectively. This is one of the most prestigious honors in the olive oil world, with entries from top producers across the globe.

Sourced from an historic estate in Portugal’s Ribatejo region and crafted using advanced cold extraction techniques, these oils represent a rare combination of tradition, innovation, and exceptional health quality.

I recently had the chance to spend time in the Ribatejo region in Portugal, where these oils are produced. Experiencing the landscape and olive groves firsthand gave me a deeper appreciation for the care and craftsmanship behind oils from these historic estate groves.

To have not just one, but two award-winning oils of this caliber available in our shop is something truly special, and not something you come across every day.

At Nick of Thyme, we’ve spent the past couple of years absorbing rising costs so we can continue offering fresh, high-quality extra virgin olive oil at a fair price. Between tariffs, inflation, shipping increases, and lower harvests, it hasn’t been easy, but staying affordable for our customers is a commitment we take seriously.
We’re grateful to work with a family-run supplier that partners with small regional mills and sustainable heritage farms around the world. Those relationships allow us to maintain quality without passing dramatic price increases on to you, unlike many big box retailers.
We hope you’ll continue to think of Nick of Thyme when restocking this pantry staple. Our extra virgin olive oil is good for your heart, your brain, your body—and your wallet.
