She’s delicate, feathery, and pretty… but yarrow has been earning her spot in the herbal cabinet for thousands of years. 👀

🏹 Fun fact: Yarrow’s botanical name Achillea comes from Achilles, the legendary Greek warrior. According to tradition, yarrow was used on the battlefield to help tend wounds — earning it nicknames like Soldier’s Woundwort.

🌿 Traditionally, herbalists have used yarrow to support:

My (Steph) Random Thoughts on a Friday Morning…

Nature almost never heals by force.

Imagine a surgical wound.

A surgeon makes a precise incision (layer by layer, skin, fat, muscle) carefully parted to reach what needs attention. A necessary intervention, but still an interruption to the body’s continuity.

And yet, somewhere in how we think about healing, we have confused the moment of acute intervention with a solution to a chronic problem. As if what is meant to stabilize a crisis could also, on its own, resolve a long-standing imbalance.

When the procedure is complete, there is no rushing of tissue or pulling of edges every hour to speed recovery. The wound is not coerced into closure.

Instead, it is gently approximated, supported, cleaned, and protected. Dressed and shielded from infection, given what it needs to remain stable.

And then…The body heals.

Quietly. Gradually. In its own time, if all elements of need are present.

Somewhere along the way, we’ve forgotten that lesson. We’ve learned to push instead.

More stimulants. More restriction. More hacks. More signals telling the body to override itself.

But every push has a biological cost.

The body may compensate for a while, but compensation isn’t healing. Eventually, every withdrawal from your biological bank account must be repaid.

Real healing begins when we stop forcing biology and start supporting it.

Feed your cells. Sleep. Move. Eat real food. Restore nutrients. Reduce unnecessary stress. Surround yourself with people who make your nervous system feel safe.

We don’t perform the miracle. The body does the heavy lifting. Our job is simply to create the conditions that allow it.
