Cross member replacement job just completed as you can see this truck had a significant rust issue pulled it into the shop yesterday and initiated the demolition process. This morning it’s ready to return to service.

A customer requested a custom-built L tank designed to withstand the rigors of farm life while maintaining its aesthetic appeal. Having repaired numerous store-bought tanks, I am intimately familiar with their inherent weaknesses and constructed this tank with enhanced durability. We increased the diamond plate thickness to 3/16 inches and the bottom of the tank to 1/4 inch. The entire tank is fully welded, both internally and externally. The back plate, which is susceptible to damage from shifting loads, features a double-walled design with a thickness of 1/2 inch. All external welds are TIG-welded, and fittings are secured with internal and external welds. Additional support is provided for the side that accommodates the pump. It is essential to note that this custom-built tank comes at a higher cost than a standard store-bought model. However, when considering the potential consequences of damaging a standard tank, such as losing 100 gallons of $5 diesel fuel and incurring repair or replacement costs, the investment in a tank of this caliber becomes more understandable. The mess and inconvenience associated with such an incident further justify the value of a custom-built tank.

It’s not always nice clean new aluminum work around here sometimes it’s something like this… Two old rusty culverts that needed to be welded together to make one large one. Doesn’t mean that it can’t turn out nice. 😎

This project deviated slightly from the norm, as we modified the pontoon boat by replacing the inboard engine with an outboard motor, extending the transom, and repurposing the former engine bay into a spacious live well.

Multiple projects reached completion today. The first involved restoring a small pontoon boat that sustained rail and trailer damage in a spring storm. The second project entailed modifying a Razor, including cage extension, door hinge upgrades, and the installation of a spare tire holder that hinges up for easy bed access.
