The Kilted Chef, MI. The Kilted Chef is a home based bakery specializing in sweet and savoury Scottish baked goods. Also square sliced sausage, meat pies, etc.

The name Kilted Chef started as a joke when I was a tenor drummer in a local bagpipe band. At all day events I would not only be practicing with the band but also cooking for them in my kilt, so the name stuck. I specialize in Scottish/British/Irish recipes. Also I have quite an extensive repertoire in Greek, Italian and Indian food along with a smattering of French and also American regional items.

Cauld winter was howling o'er moor and o'er mountain, okay so we don't have moors and mountains in White Lake, but the wind is howling and it's bloody cold. Winter is not even a month old yet, and I don't care what that rodent says next month, this is Michigan and we all know we have a ways to go.
Stay warm with some homemade soup from the Chef. Each quart will serve 2 as an ample dinner or four as a first course. First up is lentil soup, made with Dearborn Brand ham, red lentils and veg. $5.00, just heat and serve.

New this year an assortment of homemade Quiche. Each will serve 4-8 depends on how you want to slice it.
Prices range from $12.00 for cheese and onion to $22.00 for a Club style Quiche loaded with eggs, cheese, turkey, bacon and tomato. These are not your frozen supermarket variety, these are fresh made to order. And if you choose you can freeze it yourself.

New to the Kilted Chef Irish bangers, savory but also mildly spicy they are great for breakfast or dinner as bangers and mash. These are not the skinny breakfast sausages that Americans are used to, these babies are three to four times thicker than that.

I've had a quiet recovery the past few months and am now just getting back to filling up the freezer again. First item sliced sausage, add it to your Sunday breakfast routine with a potato scone and egg and you'll have a delicious Scottish style treat. Or sauté some onions with the sausage put it on a Kaiser roll with HP.

This past weekend the MWPBA added a new competition to it's roster. It was held at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion MI, and was somewhat a small scale version of other games. There were only four Grade 5 bands, but it was just enough for the setting, it may get bigger in the year's to follow and instead of limiting band comp to one day they may have to add it to the events they hold on a Sunday. It was nice to see so many friend's in one location, the only complaint they all had was the total lack of real Scottish food. Yours' truly did not leave the field that day before finding out about being a vendor next year.

Spent the last two day's making sausage rolls and bridies for some friends. Who knows maybe tomorrow it'll be tattie scones. All are available for pick-up.
