Time for an introduction! Many of you know us, but many don’t — we’re Brooke and Sean of Wicked Good Produce (formerly The Wicked Good Farm).
Two New Englanders who mushed into the Flathead Valley in the Autumn of 2004 — for what was supposed to be one winter. Back then Sean was a carpenter, Brooke was a server, and we were mushers. It was our sled dogs that brought us to Montana; after all, it’s halfway on the journey between New England to Alaska.

After 2008, we traded the sled for a shovel and started expanding our farming endevour. Our farm had several physical homes until we found a long-term land rental situation in 2017. Our farm is approximately 1.5 acres in size. When we started farming, we threw a wide net and had as many sales avenues as we could — the Whitefish Farmers Market, a 30-plus member Veggie Club (aka Community Supported Agriculture), starter plants, and relationships with restaurants.

Over time, we leaned up our sales outlets and focused our growing efforts to meet the needs of our restaurants and chefs. This was an intentional business decision. We wanted to diversify from other small vegetable farms, reducing competition while also giving other farms a way to access restaurants through our online ordering platform.

We miss the Farmers Market and our Veggie Club community, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the support over the years. But you can still support us — by supporting the restaurants who support us! A strong local economy is built on layers of local businesses supporting each other. It’s one thing for a business to be locally owned and operated; it’s another for that business to also choose to buy from other local businesses — and that’s what really drives economic sustainability. We’re deeply grateful for that. It would be far easier for many of our partners to source everything from large distributors, but we admire the ones who take the extra step to source locally.

Stay tuned to see where our produce goes and the culinary creations it becomes!

August 20, 2026 marks the last of our transplanting for the 2026 season! We will direct seed until Labor Day. My how the growing season goes so fast. We still have several weeks of Harvest, but the days are getting shorter, and we can start to feel the season change.

Sometimes on the farm things slip by or our attention is need elsewhere. Sungold tomatoes grow like weeds and we missed one week of pruning.
So first thing today, while it was cool, we tamed them! FYI the fruits are coming along nicely.

Farming - It has taught us patience, made us more resilient and flexible.

This past week we received a significant amount of rain resulting in a little bit of flooding. Fortunately, these are just a few beds on the farm (so don’t feel bad for us) and it could be so much worse.

However, other beds are very wet and we will delay field work (weeding, bed prep, transplanting, and seeding) until the soils dry a bit.

Oh and there is a frost wring tonight..

Farming at 48 degrees north! We just love the seasonal challenges. Keeps life interesting.
