Native Meadows Farm

Native Meadows Farm Eggs from pastured, organic fed chickens, vegetables, fruit, plants, herbs, and cut flowers all grown using organic methods.

I like snakes and they do great work I just didn’t need this guy in with my chickens and terrorizing Athena. He was moved to a flower bed I have near my bird feeders where a rat has been living off of the fallen seeds.

I am aware that bird feeders are not the best thing to have BUT we have an indigo bunting that visits and he is amazing to see and I selfishly haven’t wanted to take them down yet. 😬 I wash and bleach them regularly to help with the spread of diseases and with warmer temperatures I’ll have to take them down.

Hi friends!

I’m so excited to share fresh food that I grow with you!
One way I am doing that is through this self-serve open daily store!

We are finishing off the rest of the farm store this week! Insulation was added between the studs then plywood overtop. Next step is the insulating the ceiling and finishing it off with plywood. After that I will paint and we will get this display cooler in and the AC unit installed to keep everything at an appropriate storage temperature when the weather gets too hot.

Cheers to hyper-local, fresh, clean food!

Today I really tried to focus on one thing: move 300 strawberry plants from the “flood zone garden” to this new landscaped fabric bed. We look forward to sharing lots of delicious food this summer with you!

I also moved over 100 more strawberries to a special bed for my son to go ham on!

And a photo of cute toad while w**ding another area because who doesn’t like a toad!

Our eggs are not the same as the grocery store eggs and that is good thing!

Our hens lives are completely different than hens on a conventional farm who are crammed in cages stacked on dozens of other cages with a tray of food in front and a bottle of water to the side. They have no room to move.

Our sweet hens eat quality organic food, are loved on and cared for by our family, have freedom to choose between multiple barn stalls, their coop, run, or pastures! Whenever I see them sprawled out in the grass enjoying the sunshine because they know they are safe to do so my heart is happy.

When you enjoy our rich eggs you will taste the difference and feel good about where your eggs come from. You can change the food system and eat healthier!

Some of the cauliflower was finally transplanted today. It’s going to be a really hot week so let’s hope they do okay!

The tunnels in this photo are low tunnels with insect net from Neversink Tools. They were super easy to put up even in our rocky soil. I received a grant from the NRCS to put these in with frost protection for a longer growing season so I will be using them for fall brassicas and lettuce as well.

For all of you who know the pains of moving sand bags or rocks around with a standard hoop tunnel these are a dream! You simply push up the sides to w**d or harvest and push them down. Amazing.

Athena enjoying the shade of the trees. It’s hot as hell already and she is out here looking over these chickens with the same fortitude as always.
