CANE is proud to announce a new step forward in supporting our local food system and the hardworking growers who make it possible.

Beginning immediately, CANE will purchase available produce at the end of each market day, provided it meets our quality standards. This helps ensure your hard work doesn’t go to waste while strengthening our ability to serve the community with fresh, local food.

To keep things fair and organized for everyone:👉 All produce must be brought through and sold at the market first👉 We will not accept direct drop-offs at the kitchen unless pre-arranged and ordered

Our goal is simple — to support our farmers, strengthen the market, and grow together as a community.

We appreciate everything you do and look forward to continuing this partnership! 🌱

Join us tomorrow for our groundbreaking ceremony at 1:00!

Good news!

We are having a groundbreaking for the first phase of the Farmers Market on Friday, April 10th at 1 PM. We are working with Bell Engineering and Bailey Construction, and we hope to have the project completed by summer. Current funding has come through Abandoned Mine Lands and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund. Join us with the city as we begin this exciting process and take another step toward making this long-held vision a reality.

Phase 2 will include restrooms and a demonstration kitchen, all coming soon. Thank you to Mayor Craft and the City of Whitesburg for their support, and we apologize for any inconveniences during the building process.

We also want to thank the farmers for their steadfast commitment and the many partners who have supported the market over the years. Your dedication has helped make this vision possible.

The market plans to open regardless on Thursday, June 4th with the Levitt Amp Whitesburg Music Series.

It’s been more than ten years—it’s been a long time comin’. It never feels like enough or fast enough, and we feel the anxiety too. But let’s not let the wait deter us from our excitement. Instead, let’s appreciate this moment even more.
