Pope Leo XIV's vestments are stitched by hand over 1,000 hours by an openly gay Italian designer whose other product line includes a fragrance called Cruising Area.

His name is Filippo Sorcinelli. The 50-year-old behind Atelier LAVS has now dressed three popes - Benedict XVI, Francis, and the first American pontiff.

His handmade robes can run upwards of $7,500 each. Vogue named Pope Leo one of the 55 best dressed people of 2025, crediting his sharply tailored papal vestments and red satin mozzetta.

He's been openly gay the entire time. He doesn't see a conflict, and says he's never been treated like one. "I have never seen faith and sexuality as a battle, but as a creative tension that fuels my work," he told the Daily Mail.

"My experience of the Church has always been one of welcome. No one has ever stopped me at the threshold of a church."

"Michael K Davenport is a Wichita-based artist who makes work about identity, vulnerability, and q***r experience, often bringing the community into the process.

His current project supported by the Wichita Arts Council, "Surface/Self," invites LGBTQIA+ Allied community members to create on large canvases in a low-pressure, come-and-go space. People can add as much or as little as they want. These pieces will later come together as a public art installation, along with an artist talk about identity, community, and what it means to exist as both an individual and part of something bigger.

This project builds on his past work, Threads of Pride, continuing his focus on creating open, welcoming spaces through art."
