Rats, I missed the Bake off this year! I did travel the UP and tasted pasties in Munising and Marquette. I wish they would put more rutabaga in the filling and use lard in the crust. Also the seasoning should be kicked up a notch. One of my customers is bringing my pasties to the UP instead of getting theirs FROM the UP. Yea! I am out of beef pasties so looks like I will be back to the kitchen this week. (I usually cruise in the summer) Just came back from camping in the Porcupine Mountains. Its so beautiful there!

Barbara Jean is going to enter her pasties at the Calumet MI. pasty festival competition June 29th. 2013. Check out the festival on line or facebook. Looks like lots of fun. Which veggie should I enter? Spinach feta, broccoli cheddar, or sweet potato kale?

We are in Spain finally after 10 days at sea.

Barbara Jean and Steve are heading to Spain for a month. Jasen will be doing the Farmers Market as long as the pasties last. Better stock up, or wait until May. You can always get them at Evergreen Market in Acme too.
