An exciting day here at the Happy Hens on Holt! Our sweet girl, Copper, laid her first egg today! 🥚
Copper is a 24 week old BCM and the oldest of our newest group of chicks. BCM’s (Black Copper Maran) lay gorgeous dark, chocolatey brown (sometimes almost dark burgundy) eggs. 🖤🤎
Now that Copper has laid her first egg, we’re even more excited to share that all of the girls from our newest groups of chicks are now laying! 🥳
Before adding this group to our flock, our girls were laying eggs ranging in color from a creamy light pink to light/medium brown. In addition to the eggs from our older flock, you will now be seeing eggs ranging in color from olive to light green (from our Starlight Green Eggers), robin’s egg blue to sky blue (from our Americanas) and the occasional dark brown egg (from Copper) - Bascially, you’ll be getting a beautiful rainbow of eggs in every carton! 🌈
