OPEN FRIDAYS May-October. Offering locally produced foods, arts and crafts, and other locally m The market is a community building tool.

The Bellevue Farmers Market is a New Castle County Farmers Market in partnership with Bellevue Community Center in Wilmington, Delaware. The purpose of the market is to provide opportunities to access and support local farmers and small businesses. We bring live music, food trucks, and more for fun evenings in the community. APPLE SALSA
2 c diced apples (peeled or unpeeled)
1/2 c diced red bell pepper
1/3 c fresh lime juice
1/4 c diced red onion
1/4 c minced fresh cilantro
1 Tbs honey
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 jalapeno, seeded & minced (optional)
Dice apples, bell pepper & onion. Seed & mince jalapeno. Mince cilantro. Measure out other ingredients & combine all, stirring well. Serve with baked tortilla chips.

Today at the Bellevue Farmers Market, we'll have a demonstration from UD Cooperative Extension on how to make a delicious Carrot & Red Cabbage Salad. If you can't make it, here's the recipe!

CARROT & RED CABBAGE SALAD
2 c. shredded red cabbage
1 sm carrot, grated
3 Tbs fresh lime juice or 1/4 c vinegar
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 Tbs chopped cilantro
1-3 Tbs chopped jalapeno (optional)
Grate carrot & chop/prep other ingredients. Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl. Serve. PRO TIP: Cabbage can be steamed, boiled, stuffed, microwaved, & eaten raw to unlock its vitamin C & fiber health benefits! Use it in a healthy side of coleslaw or stuffed with meatballs to add protein. It is one of the oldest vegetables in the world, but it still tastes just as good today in almost any recipe.
