Good Samaritan Mission is not closing down.
Y’know when preachers say, “If you don’t remember anything I say, just remember this?”
This is the same deal.
So, I will say it again so there is no misunderstanding.
Good Samaritan Mission is not closing down.
Or, folding.
Or, dissolving.
Or, giving up.
Or, quitting.
Or, giving up the ghost.
Or, kicking the bucket.
Or any another synonym related to “closing down.”
I’ll tell you what we are doing.
We are temporarily suspending our services.
Why, you may ask?
I’ll tell you why.
Donations have been going down steadily for years. We ended up 2021 "in the red."
The bottom line is: income for operational expenses is so low that we have to make some hard decisions in order to make it through this rather large speed bump.
So, what is the plan?
1. There are no longer any paid staff members at Good Samaritan. Good Samaritan is now composed entirely of a staff of volunteers.
2. Classes will be temporarily suspended.
3. Food pickups and distributions will be temporarily suspended.
4. Once again, we will be placing the Balm property for sale.
5. We will be liquidating some of the items therein, all in order to raise funds.
6. Once we have enough funds on our operational expenses fund, Good Samaritan will hire staff, and resume our services.
Where do you come in?
I’m glad you asked.
We still need you to volunteer. There is plenty of work to be done, from brainstorming to organizing to packing to disposing,
Oh! And we still need to restock our unrestricted operational account, which takes care of our operational expenses. So, we gladly welcome your continued tax-deductible donation. Our mailing address is: Good Samaritan, P.O. Box 5178, Sun City Center, FL 33571.
One more thing before I let you go…
Did I mention that Good Samaritan is not closing down?
I did?
Good!
