Today, like so many across the country, we remember the men and women who served and sacrificed for this nation. But for us, remembrance is also deeply personal.
Through the Veterans Table Project, we remember the veterans who became part of our family over the years. The ones who pulled up a chair every Saturday morning. The ones who brought their stories, their humor, their wisdom, their carácter, and their own special flavor to our breakfast table.
Some are no longer with us, but their presence still lives in the laughter we remember, the empty chairs we notice, and the traditions they helped build.
Memorial Day reminds us to pause and honor them, but through the Veterans Table Project, remembrance is not just once a year. Every Saturday, we carry these men and women with us. We hold them close in our hearts alongside all veterans who have served this country.
Today, we remember them with gratitude, respect, and love.
