Libby, Y V Tech class of 2015 graduates today from Wine Country Culinary Institute, Walla Walla College. Currently the pastry chef at the Marcus Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla.

Matt and I are now teaching Culinary Arts at Y V TECH here in Yakima. Our students did well in last week's statewide competition. 4 of the top places in Commercial Baking and first in Culinary Arts. Our top 2 now head to Louisville KY for the National competition.

Hey folks, remember all the cool stuff we had on the shelves and the walls in the dining room? We are having a garage sale this Saturday. 8 am. 1112 so 28th ave. Also equipment and utensils. (sorry no recipes .... yet....)

We may have closed but we promised to do some of the food last week for St. John Orthodox Church at the Capital Theater. I always enjoyed this event. I'm looking forward to a little more time but sure going to miss this part.

Stephanie, Erin, Matt, and I are so appreciative of everyone's heartwarming comments. We are so blessed to live in such a caring community. Thank you.

As it is said, as one door closes, another opens. We are certainly in that mode. But, what about the food community in Yakima? After reading your comments; I am inspired. 901 Pasta's location has a 30 year tradition of quality food. I too, would love to see a new restaurant immerge. I know there are aspiring chefs and food artisans seeking opportunities and locations. Let's spread the conversation to your friends and "foodies" about the space available. How about a new restaurant? A Deli? A Bakery? A Distillery? Or a Culinary Cooperative Incubator? Let me know your ideas. It's always exciting to see new ventures. Pass it along.

Yesterday, Friday, February 12th, was the last day for 901 Pasta. A new chapter is beginning for the WALSH family. Ned is concentrating on his teaching Culinary Arts at YV Tech. This location will be missed after 30 years (10 years with Runge family, 20 years with Walsh family) of fine food with fresh, wholesome ingredients. We appreciate all the support and loyalty over the years.
