This month marks 25 years of The Butcher’s Fancy.
We wanted to take a minute to say “thank you.” Not in a fancy, overthought way—just plainly, and sincerely.
Thank you to every single customer who has ever darkened our doorway. The regulars who feel like family. The people who stop in once or twice a year at the holidays. The folks who drive long distances to restock their supply of Irish sausages. The heavy conversations at the counter. The craic. The recipes. The jokes. The last-minute saves before a big meal. You’ve let us be part of your lives, and that is something we never take for granted.
Thank you to our many vendors, including Harvey Rau, who has delivered meat to us since day one. Thank you to the many restaurants and shops that purchase from us every week. Thank you to every employee who’s ever worked here—early mornings, long days, busy holidays, and all.
The Butcher’s Fancy started back in 2001, when Oliver and Elizabeth took a chance and opened this shop while raising four kids, without knowing if it would even work. They just kept showing up and doing their best, day after day. Somehow, 25 years later, we’re still here because you kept showing up too.
Thank you to each one of those four kids: Brendan, Katie, Krista, and Noreen—each of whom have worked and continue to work at the shop in different capacities
We also want to remember those who’ve passed through this shop over the years and are no longer with us. You haven’t been forgotten. Not for a second.
This place has always been more than just a butcher shop. It’s a tradition and a small part of a lot of people’s lives—and we’re incredibly grateful you’ve allowed us to keep it going.
From all of us, truly:
thank you for 25 years.
