This morning, as I drove by and saw the sign change, the emotions that came over me are difficult to put into words. That beautiful space was something we poured our hearts into—it was a dream come true for both of us. Making the decision to close it was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do.
When Steve surprised me with the downtown space, there were mixed emotions. We knew how much work it would be to run a second location, and now, seeing 90% less business than we had at our original space—90%!—we find ourselves questioning what the future holds.
We’re standing at yet another crossroads. Do we keep fighting, pouring our time and energy into a space that’s losing money every month? It’s tough because we know we’re not the only ones struggling downtown, and that shared struggle sometimes gives us the motivation to keep going. But how much loss can we really handle?
As we face these challenges, we’re reminded just how important it is to support local businesses. Every sale, every visit, every kind word makes a difference. It’s not just about keeping the doors open—it’s about keeping the heart of the community alive. For us, and for so many other small business owners downtown, your support truly means the world. We may be at a crossroads, but we’re not giving up just yet. And we hope, with your continued support, we can keep pushing forward, together.
