We are excited for the work Calder Dairy is doing at their farm, and so glad to carry their milk and ice cream!

We at The Ypsilanti Food Co-Op want to express our deepest condolences to all who loved and valued Melvin. His passing is felt deeply in our community and our hearts. Melvin Parson, the founder of We the People Opportunity Farm started the farm with a mission that created community, through the process of growing and selling nutritious greens and vegetables, which is is truly as simple and as beautiful as it gets. Using meaningful work (gardening) to support and grow community is brilliant, and his impact reached well beyond the work on the farm, and into the lives of so many. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone connected to We the People Opportunity Farm during this difficult time.

With the possibility of snow and colder weather, this would be a good choice this weekend!

Is there anything more comforting than a steaming bowl of creamy potato soup? We like to leave the skins on for texture and puree part of the potatoes to thicken the soup. Hearty kale and buttery arugula add the green goodness.
