Use it or lose it. Zumbrota is losing our Store this week. Here's why.
My comments to the original post.
A thousand thankyous!!! My Small town grocery Store is closing this week after 5 years. I carried 100% ALL Local and regional food, care products and other items. But sadly people think "cheap" is the goal. Sure if you want to continue being sick and tired and popping multiple meds rather than see food as Healthcare, rather than treating symptoms of sick care. The sickest part of all, lots of people came in to buy stuff to "help me close my Store." Really??? Where were you the past 5 years helping me stay open? This can't be said loudly enough.

I’ve typed and re-typed this post so many times over the past few days to try and get the wording right and I’m still not sure I have!

In the face of rising prices, everyone is looking to save money: the answer? Shop locally.

The question of food security and traceability is one which keeps coming up: more and more people want to know what they’re eating and where it’s from: the answer? Shop locally.

We match or beat supermarkets for price on so many things.

Many of our products are local, are traceable, and even their from further afield are bought via wholesalers who’ve done the hard work for us: checking supply chains, quality and freshness.

So many small businesses have closed recently.

So many businesses are reporting being on a knife edge; they need weekly custom and support.

These are people who, like us, are working so hard, trying to juggle everything from running their business, doing the admin, bills, the behind the scenes, the social media, and trying to have a life, spend time with their families etc too: and some people are actually missing out on that family time in order to stay afloat.

Not one single person wants charity; they just want to see the reward for their work, they want to show customers that there’s more out there than huge multi-national chains; that the chains don’t always offer best value, that they rarely offer best quality.

Make someone’s day; go to their business instead of Tesco or Aldi or Greggs or McDonald’s or whatever: you’ll probably get better service, a better product and it probably won’t cost you any more.

We think that’s a win all round.

Nearing the end. Yes its bittersweet. It's been a great 8 years and we thank all of our amazing customers. We need your final support this next week so that we can end well. Food is still 25% off and we have many other miscellaneous items priced his marked. Thank you for the years!! This is not goodbye, but rather we will see you around.

Sadly, it's the end of the road for The Greensted Fresh-n-Local. What a wild 8 years it's been. As I stated in the newsletter, all good things, are good, and lead to the next good things. We have many expenses to cover so shopping the next couple of week will help us tremendously. And give you great deals! Thank you to our wonderful customers who have walked the journey with us.
