We are seeking an Enterprise Development Manager to join our team in Acornhoek, Mpumalanga, South Africa. The successful candidate will provide training, mentorship, and support to Yes for Youth participants, SMMEs, and Cooperatives, helping them green their business activities and implement business improvement plans (BIPs). This role supports the CSA Green Economy Enterprise Development Programmes in the Kruger to Canyons (K2C) Biosphere Landscape and includes capturing lessons learned and developing enterprise development toolkits to strengthen the programme’s impact.

Embarking on a transformative journey over the past six months, our Welverdiend-based Pro Nature Enterprise, Vugimamusi Women's Cooperative, thrived under the mentorship of The Kulani Collective. Elevating their product range and boosting income through increased sales, these remarkable ladies are now taking their creations to new heights.

Now, the public can indulge in the fruits of their labour at the monthly Hoedspruit Farmers Market, held every first Saturday of the month. The next ambitious step for these ladies involves pursuing the 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣 (fRfR) certification, in collaboration with the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Region.

𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 (acronym for 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠) is a Pro-nature aquaponics enterprise that is revolutionising the way food is grown. By using fish farming (aquaculture) and growing plants in water (hydroponics), this social enterprise offers a sustainable approach to growing produce. In addition to its environmental benefits, EATt fresh is also building planet-positive economies in the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Reserve (KCBR) by creating short-term employment opportunities through CSA's Jobs for Nature programme.

Meet Thulisile Mapaile, she started working for CSA as a YES Youth and is now a YES Supervisor and the farm operator. She oversees all the activities in the aquaponics farm and also supervises YES youth and interns.

This video was filmed and created by Neville Ngomane, a previous YES Youth on the media team at the KCBR office. He gained skills in video production, editing and filming, and has since gone on to study photography at AFDA and has become a well-known photographer in his community.

𝐇𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 cooperative specialise in collecting waste from rangelands, rivers, communities and businesses. They sort the collected waste and distribute recyclable materials to be sold to various customers. In addition, they also coordinate and facilitate cleaning campaigns within the neighbouring villages.
