Mom and Daughter, Brenton on Sea locals Marohessa and Anja are the friendly, neighbourly faces you will find at On Brenton Eatery, neighbour to Brenton’s favourite convenience store, Shop on Sea. With a recent re-vamp, showcasing solid, natural colours of light sandy beige, dark wood, charcoal and bursts of green, the team has not only given this space a fresh and inviting look but an earthy orga
nic feel with functional design - you will find herbs, such as origanum, mint and coriander growing and giving their beautiful aromas in the pots on the tables, for example.
“We want to provide The Brentons with a convivial, warm-hearted family orientated space to enjoy togetherness with good times, good people and, of course, good food.”
While Marohessa, known quite simply as M to most, and Anja are the kind of people that would have liked everything in place, finalised and finished absolutely perfectly, they strongly believe in being a part of and supporting their local community - and it shows. Heeding the call from the local community, this duo have actually opened On Brenton Eatery EARLIER than originally planned. Already an enticing menu - I am told there is more to come and not just the menu. “There is so much we want to do, but we just couldn’t keep the doors closed to the locals any longer.” And open they are, every day of the week, from 9 to 9 the kitchen is open, although doors open a little before and close somewhat after. Boasting a beautiful generous outdoor grass area complete with tables and chairs, jungle gym, swings and space for little ones to play, run around and be kids. Inside you will find a spacious dining floor, filled with natural light, seating up to 48 people and free Wi-Fi for the ever busy Professionals. Adding to its charm is the aptly nicknamed Sunshine Deck - a morning coffee and breakfast, sundowners or something in-between - this deck extends from the bar, equipped with BIG screens inside and out, a covered section incorporating its fireplace. In a group or on your own, this is the social hub of On Brenton where people come together - for a meal, a drink, or to support the Bokke. Even load shedding won’t affect our hospitality or service. “Come and have a cup of coffee and charge your devices when you don’t have electricity at home.”
