🌱✨ Edible Education at Neighborhood Farm ✨🌱

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful learners and teachers from for joining us for another beautiful autumn winter workshop in the garden. 🐝💚

It was such a joy watching the busy bees explore, learn, and connect with nature through all five senses — touching, smelling, tasting, seeing, and experiencing the magic of fresh vegetables growing straight from the soil. 🌿🥕

From planting their own seedlings to take home, to answering questions with confidence and curiosity, the children brought so much energy, brightness, and laughter into the garden and classroom.

These young minds are the future leaders of South Africa, and it’s inspiring to see them learning, growing, and expressing themselves through hands-on edible education. 🌍🌱

Thank you for sharing the day with us — we can’t wait to welcome you back to Neighborhood Farm 💛

A little gratitude goes a long way 🌱

Big thanks to Jason for all the guidance and wisdom shared over the past few weeks at Neighbourhood Farm. From inoculating our seedlings to helping strengthen our tomatoes, your advice has truly made a difference. The garden is looking healthier, stronger, and happier because of it.

We appreciate the time, care, and knowledge you’ve poured into the farm. Here’s to growing good food and even better community. 💚

🌿🦎 A huge thank you to I-Themba School for bringing the little chameleons back to Neighborhood Farm for another wonderful workshop!
It was such a joy having these bright young minds exploring the garden, learning all about the five senses and discovering how we use them in our everyday lives. Watching their curiosity grow through hands-on learning and nature-based experiences is always so special.
There’s nothing better than having the farm filled with the laughter, wonder, and excitement of beautiful young children connecting with nature in such a meaningful way. 🌱✨
We absolutely love hosting these workshops and look forward to welcoming many more little explorers to the farm in the future! 💚

A big thank you to SAOSO PGS South Africa for sharing and tagging us in this beautiful piece of storytelling around organic food, soil health, and regenerative growing. 🌱

A special shoutout to the young creator who captured the magic of worm farming so beautifully — reminding us all that healthy food truly starts from the ground up. From food scraps to “black gold,” worms play such an important role in building living soil and nourishing the food we eat every day.

We love seeing young voices engaging with regenerative farming and helping inspire a deeper connection to where our food comes from.

The Cape Town storms caused major damage to our shade netting and growing spaces here at Neighborhood Farms, but the farm is still standing — and we’re rebuilding every day. 🌱

Our team is hard at work repairing tunnels, restoring beds, and protecting the crops so we can continue growing fresh food for our community.

We’d love to ask for support from our community during this time. Whether it’s materials, tools, shade netting, donations, or simply sharing this message, every bit helps us rebuild stronger.

The farm is open, still growing, and still serving the community. Thank you for standing with us. 💚

There’s a quiet revolution in South Africa’s food and beverage culture. It doesn’t shout—it grows. In the soil, in the hands that plant with intention, and in every drink that carries more than just flavour.

At The Neighbourhood Farm in Fish Hoek, that future is already taking shape. A space where people can grow their own food, reconnect with origin, and understand the journey from soil to glass. Simple, but powerful.

In a world driven by convenience, this brings us back—to patience, to process, to purpose.

For the bar world, it opens something deeper. Imagine ingredients not just sourced, but grown. Garnishes harvested steps away. Syrups rooted in the same soil that tells their story. This is where Bantu Mixology feels most honest.

Because it’s never just about what’s in the glass—it’s about where it comes from, and who has access to that origin.

In South Africa, land is more than land. It carries history, emotion, and meaning. And access to it means access to creation, participation, and growth.

Not scale. Intention.

For movements like Bantu Mixology and B.L.A.A.K Bartenders Global Community to truly flourish, there must be space—both physical and economic—for people to grow, experiment, and create from a place of authenticity.
