I learned to make marmalde from my mom, and when we moved into the house we live in now, we found 3 really productive lemon trees. So I started making marmalades (and jams and curds), then I found out I was pregnant with twins! I was so pregnant and on maternity leave for a long time, that I started selling my marmalades products at various markets. Then in 2017 I found out about an International Marmelade awards and I sent a few of my flavours all the way to Penrith! I was thrilled when I got two "commended" awards. Being a naturally competitive person, I worked on my recipe using the feedback that they sent and won a Silver the following year for our Three Fruit Marmalade. Then in 2019, I scooped a Bronze for our ClemenLemon (made with real ClemenGolds) and a GOLD (!!) for our newsest flavour (HoneyBunch made with HoneyGolds and local honey).
All our marmalades are made in my home, hand-cut and and where possible we use our homegrown lemons. And whenever I cook them, I have a couple of friendly bees that always pop in to have a look because they smell like heaven and sunshine.
