Saturday Recipe: A rich, slow-cooked Hearty Mutton Curry perfect for a comforting weekend meal.π₯©π Packed with deep spices, tender meat, and homely flavour, itβs made for sharing around the table on a Saturday.
Ingredients:
β Meat Marinade:
β 1 kg mutton
β 2 tbsp ginger & garlic paste
β 1 tsp turmeric
β 1 tsp chilli powder (to taste)
β 2 tbsp yoghurt or buttermilk
β 1 tbsp salt
Curry Base:
β Oil or ghee
β Onions
β Tomatoes
β Curry leaves
β Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves
β Cumin & coriander
β Roasted mutton masala
Method:
1. Mix the mutton with all the marinade ingredients. Rest for at least 1 hour.
2. Heat oil. Add whole spices and curry leaves.
3. Fry onions until golden brown.
4. Add masala, cumin, and coriander. Stir briefly.
5. Add mutton and brown well for about 10 minutes.
6. Add tomatoes and water. Cover and cook on low heat for 1 hour.
7. Add potatoes and cook 30β40 minutes until soft and tender.
8. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice or roti.
