π©βπ³ BAKING TIP OF THE WEEK: The Golden Rule for Perfect Texture! π°
Have you ever noticed your cake turning out a bit dense or heavy, even when you followed the recipe exactly?
The secret often doesn't lie with your oven or your batter mixβit's all about the temperature of your ingredients!
The Golden Rule: Always make sure your eggs, milk (or water), and butter are at room temperature before you start mixing.
Why it makes all the difference:
It mixes easier: Room temperature ingredients emulsify much better together. This means your batter becomes smoother and traps air bubbles more effectively.
Cold shocks the fat: If you add cold eggs or milk to your creamed butter or oil, it "shocks" the fat and causes it to separate. It won't trap air, resulting in a flatter, denser cake.π‘
Quick Hack: If you forgot to take your eggs out of the fridge in time, pop them into a bowl of warm (not boiling!) tap water for 5β10 minutes to bring them up to temperature quickly!
Whether you're baking from scratch or using a convenient mix, this one small change will instantly make your bakes lighter and fluffier.
