🥘 Boontjie Bredie (Green Bean Stew)Recipe idea
Ingredients:
• 500g frozen green beans
• 500g lamb or mutton, cubed
• 1 onion, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
• 1 tomato, chopped (or 1 tbsp tomato paste)
• 1 tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp ground coriander (optional)
• 1 tbsp oil or butter
• 1 cup water or stock
Instructions:
1. In a pot, heat oil and sauté onion and garlic until soft.
2. Add meat and brown on all sides.
3. Stir in tomato and spices. Cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add potatoes, green beans, and water.
5. Cover and simmer for 45–60 minutes until meat is tender and stew is thick.
6. Adjust seasoning and serve with rice or pap.
