Respected journalist David Ornstein has revealed how Mohamed Salah’s position at Liverpool could become ‘untenable’, with FSG ‘bewildered’ at his outburst.
Liverpool were in a really difficult position before Salah’s outburst, but the forward’s comments have made their situation worse.
Salah has suffered a major decline since being the best player in the Premier League last season, so head coach Arne Slot decided to take him out of the starting XI for the must-win match against West Ham.
Before this game, the Reds had lost nine games in 12 across all competitions, but they earned a valuable 2-0 win without Salah against West Ham.
Salah also started on the bench as Liverpool earned two points against Sunderland and Leeds United, with the veteran attacker remarkably claiming after the stalemate at Elland Road that he has no relationship with Slot and feels as if he’s been “thrown under the bus”.
In response, Liverpool opted to omit Salah from the squad to face Inter Milan in the Champions League group stages on Tuesday night and it has since emerged that he is unlikely to feature against Brighton at the weekend.
Therefore, it looks increasingly likely that he will leave at some point in 2026, with an exit potentially coming as soon as next month’s transfer window.
However, Ornstein has shed light on Salah’s situation on Thursday morning, claiming Liverpool’s ‘stance’ is that they do not ‘want to sell’, though they are ‘bewildered’ at his conduct’.
The report claims:
‘Senior club figures have pointed to the fact that Salah is under contract until the summer of 2027 and his recent spell out of the starting line-up was only viewed as a temporary measure. ‘They are bewildered at the speed at which things have unravelled, but there is also a feeling that the ball is in Salah’s court and he needs to tell the club what his intentions are. If he wants to leave, he needs to outline how that can happen, and Liverpool can then react.’

It is also noted that the ‘general perception’ is that Salah made his comments because he ‘genuinely wants to force a move out of the club or because he wants to put pressure on Slot’.
Also, the report claims it has been interally ‘acknowledged’ that FSG would have to admit that his ‘position is untenable’ on two conditions.
Ornstein explained: ‘There is also an acknowledgement, however, that if Salah’s stance remains hardline and no resolution can be found, then the situation would become untenable. Salah’s representative and Liverpool have also been approached for comment by The Athletic.’

In addition to his media career, Warrick had branched into business ventures including security and VIP protection services. Some reports noted he was involved with a firm focused on VIP guarding and related work.

What Happened on the Day He Was Killed

On Tuesday afternoon — around midday — DJ Warras was shot multiple times in broad daylight on Von Wielligh and Commissioner Street, opposite the iconic Carlton Centre in the Joburg CBD.

THE evil father and son who carried out the Bondi Beach massacre that left 15 dead spent a month in an “ISIS training hotspot” before the bloodbath.

Sajid Akram, 50, and Naveed, 24, allegedly travelled to the Philippines, one of the world’s biggest extremist hives, to prepare for the attack. A major probe has now been launched into the pair’s activity while visiting the South East Asian nation, which is infamous for hosting ISIS training camps.

Police sources told The Daily Telegraph: “There’s areas down there that are very dangerous… [with] training camps and the like Early intelligence suggests the Akrams allegedly “self-radicalised”, but investigators are probing whether overseas contacts may have recently hardened their views.

The Philippines ranked last year as the world’s 20th most dangerous country on the Global Terrorism Index, recording 22 terror attacks in 2024.

Australia, meanwhile, was listed among nations experiencing a “sharp increase in antisemitic violence and hate crimes The Akrams returned to Australia just weeks before they allegedly opened fire on a Jewish gathering of about 1,000 people. Police then arrived, shooting Sajid dead and critically wounding Naveed.

Authorities raided the homes of known associates on Monday afternoon under Operation Arques.

Sources said Naveed had previously been assessed as a “low level” counter terrorism risk after appearing on the “periphery” of an investigation in October 2019.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed Naveed had come to ASIO’s attention at the time, but only because of his associations. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said Sajid arrived in Australia in 1998 on a student visa and switched to a partner visa in 2001, while Naveed was Australian born.

Police allegedly found an Islamic State-linked flag inside a small silver Hyundai used to drive to Bondi Beach.

Investigators are also examining the pair’s movements closer to home, including a sharehouse they recently rented in Campsie. Police believe the $90 (£67) a night property was used as a base for the attack.

That address, along with the family home in Bonnyrigg, was stormed by heavily armed tactical police late Sunday night and into Monday morning.

Sajid was a licensed gun owner who held six fi****ms, all now seized from the Bondi crime scene and the Campsie property.

He obtained his licence in 2015 and renewed it in 2020.

Images circulating online showed Naveed’s wallet containing a membership card for the Zastava Hunting Association, a gun club near their Bonnyrigg home.

NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon ruled out a third suspect, saying social media footage caused confusion.

He said there had been no intelligence suggesting an attack was imminent.

“There was no indication that either of the men involved in yesterday’s attack was planning the attack that happened yesterday,” he added.

“We’ve got investigators that have been working around the clock. I’m incredibly proud of the work that has been undertaken so far.

“We want to get to the bottom of this.

“We want to understand the motives behind it. We certainly want to understand the actions that have happened.
“We want to understand whether these people were further involved in any offences, but we have no history to say that’s the case.”

Premier Chris Minns said gun law reform was “almost certain” following Australia’s worst mass shooting since Port Arthur in 1996.

“We’re in the early stages of this investigation. NSW Police need to provide all the details of this inquiry to the government, but I made it clear that we’ll take every step possible to keep our community safe, and we’ll be looking at law reform along that route,” he added.

Police moved swiftly after the attack, raiding the Bonnyrigg family home late Sunday before turning their attention to the Campsie Airbnb hours later.

A neighbour said he was jolted awake around 12.30am by police using a megaphone ordering anyone inside to come out “It’s so freaky to think, we were watching the events unfold at Bondi, and then a couple of hours later there are police outside our house,” he said.

“This is going to change Australia forever.”

"If you look at the goals that (Leandro) Trossard or (Gabriel) Martinelli scores, they need to do what Saka is doing on the right-hand side. It feels as though all the dangerous play has to come from Saka.

"Always down the right-hand side and (Eberechi) Eze needs to do a little bit more. Odegaard comes on the pitch, but that is how teams are going to set up against Arsenal now because they are the team to beat. "They need a little bit more imagination in the games now because you can’t keep relying on Saka to dig something out. It needs to be shared around."

Arsenal have played seven times in 21 days but now have a week off before facing Everton this weekend. And Saka said: "It's been a really, really busy schedule.

"Credit to all the boys and the staff because we've been so intense, but we've been on it and we've had some amazing results.

Barcelona in talks over swap deal involving Rashford and Alvarez Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford is enjoying life in Spain, having rediscovered his swagger at Barcelona.

Rashford, currently on a season-long loan at Barca, has been directly involved in 17 goals across all competitions. In comparison, Bruno Fernandes, who remains United’s most potent attacking threat, has contributed to 10 goals.

Barcelona have an option to buy the Englishman for around €30 million. However, the financial-stricken Catalan giants are yet to make a final decision on his future. Marcus Rashford has impressed with his versatility, featuring on both flanks as well as through the middle under Hansi Flick.

However, the Barcelona hierarchy are keen to sign a natural number nine to replace veteran Robert Lewandowski. Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has emerged as the Blaugrana’s priority target.

According to a report in Spain, as relayed by Football365 , Barcelona plan to include Rashford in a swap deal with Atletico.

It is outlandishly claimed that the La Liga giants intend to trigger Rashford’s €30m clause, a relatively bargain figure, before offloading him in the same window.

The report adds that the “conditions are set” for this deal, with a €70m fee and Rashford said to be used to sign Alvarez.

It is stated: “Atlético Madrid haven’t ruled out signing the English striker if Julián Álvarez ultimately ends up at Barcelona. Diego Simeone greatly appreciates Rashford’s profile, particularly his speed and directness in exploiting space from any attacking area.”

Atletico allegedly value Rashford at around €50m and the ex-Manchester City forward at €120m.

Thus, an additional €70m from Barcelona would satisfy their demands, paving the way for Alvarez to move to Camp Nou.

As far as United are concerned, it is safe to assume they will not care where Rashford ends up next season, as long as they get their €30m. Ruben Amorim has no plans to reintegrate the academy product.

Marcus Rashford has now spent four months at Barcelona, and it is safe to say that he is loving life at the La Liga leaders. He started in very impressive fashion on the pitch, and although he has fallen out of the starting line-up in recent weeks, he remains upbeat about his situation in Catalonia.

Rashford has eyes on permanent Barcelona deal
It is clear to see that Rashford is enjoying himself in Catalonia, even if he is not playing too much in recent weeks.
