Day 10. It is so easy to slip into negativity and make no mistake we are all taking strain, each in our own way and circumstance. But the most inspiring stuff is happening all across the country. People filming themselves creating music, the National Anthem Project, engineering firms re-purposing for ventilators, people making masks. People are so resourceful when pushed and hopefully we can feed off their inspiration
Talking of feeding, Easter is just around the corner and just because we are at home does not mean that the traditional feasts are shelved. In fact it should be just the opposite. It’s time to break out (not literally) the best china, polish the silverware and lay the table with flair and imagination. Lock-down has such a sense of deprivation, let’s abandon this for now and appreciate each other and everything we have.

A little bit of Cheese Gourmet family news. We are in touch with all our staff who are in lockdown and taking it very seriously. All are well, none have left Gauteng and are spending their time with family. We miss them all, we miss the buzz and the sound of the coffee machine. It’s not forever.

In light of the Covid-19 lock down, from tomorrow, 27 March, our trading hours will be reduced to 9am to 2pm from Monday to Saturday. Our restaurant will be closed in this time. We will be limiting the amount of customers in the shop at any given time, as much for your health as ours. Thank you for your support and understanding in this difficult time.
