The Smart Health Diet describes a BALANCED diet that is NUTRITIOUS and RISK FREE in every way, with SUSTAINABLE meal plans that all people and age groups!

The oldest, healthiest people in the world don’t cut out any food groups. Read that again.

They eat regular, balanced meals that always include good carbs.

And that’s exactly what I teach.
Not because it’s trendy… but because it WORKS — long term.

When I work with clients, I don’t just give them a list of “don’ts”.

I walk them through:
• what food does to their body
• what’s actually going on in their body
• where things might be going wrong (often in ways they didn’t realise)
• and how to adjust their meals so they feel satisfied, in control, and see & feel results.

Because here’s the part most people don’t want to hear…

It’s usually NOT about willpower.

It’s about habits, structure, and understanding your body. And this is where so many people get misled.

Fad diets promise quick results…
but they’re often not based on long-term science
and can do more harm than good in the long run.

Many people — especially diabetics — have become afraid of carbs…
…but don’t realise that too much protein can also place strain on the body- and even increase your cravings!

You don’t need extremes to get results.

You need:
✔ balance
✔ consistency
✔ and a way of eating you can actually sustain

We can learn a lot from the people who’ve lived the longest.
They didn’t get there by chasing trends.
They got there by eating in a way that supports their body — every day.

If you’re tired of trying and trying and trying to lose weight…
maybe it’s time to stop trying harder and start doing things differently?

Are your thoughts SUPPORTING you? Or are they shaming you?

How you talk to yourself can make your weight loss journey empowering OR an exhausting, empty, uphill battle.

Be REASONABLE and KIND to yourself. Hunger does not equal weight loss. You can lose weight without feeling hungry all the time!

🌟 The key is eating mostly:
… Low GI carbs with
… plenty of fibre (this keeps you full for longer).
… Regular meals (don’t skip meals, it always backfires)
… Balanced meals (with quality carbs are paired with protein, veggies, fruit, and healthy fats, you’ll finally feel satisfied for hours and stop craving sugar!)

I wanna know… which one hit closest to home for you?

The bad dietary advice online is literally giving me grey hair! So, let’s set the record straight.

Losing weight can be difficult, yes, but KEEPING THE WEIGHT OFF is something that “quick fix diet trends” will never be able to help you with - especially when you follow popular advice online.

(Wow, the suffering and self-doubt that fad diets put people through is heartbreaking!)

In my 40 years of helping over 10,000 people lose weight and keep it off, I’ve seen there are 3 unpopular things that ALWAYS work to help you lose weight in a balanced, sustainable, and permanent way:

1. You’ve got to STOP cutting carbs.
Your body NEEDS wholegrain low GI carbs.

They’re GOOD, not evil.
They keep your energy stable,
help you 💩 easily,
and regulate your blood sugar.

When you cut carbs out of your diet, it mostly leads to food cravings (especially sweet treats!) and uncontrolled eating.

2. Start moving naturally. You don’t need to gym for hours, but you’ve got to MOVE.

Make it fun for yourself - go for a walk or dance to your favourite music.

The “blue zones” (where the oldest, healthiest people in the world live) have routines that naturally prompt daily activities like walking, gardening, and housework. This constant, low-intensity movement, such as gardening or using hand-operated tools, is woven into daily life, providing cardio benefits and reducing stress.

3. Eating mostly low GI. This is KEY because then you lose weight without feeling hungry all the time!

One slice of processed white bread has roughly the same amount of calories as a slice of whole-grain sourdough bread.

Eat 2 slices of white, processed bread, and you’ll be hungry 1 hour later.

Eat 2 slices of whole-grain sourdough bread, and you’ll only be hungry 2 hours later!

Same calories, different results.

Why do GI numbers for the same food look different everywhere online? 🤔

One website says a banana is low GI.
Another says it’s medium.
Another says something completely different.

So which one is actually correct?

The truth is… GI values can vary depending on how the food was tested.

Things like ripeness, cooking method, and testing protocols all affect the final number.

And unfortunately, not all GI information online follows the same standards.

That’s why standardised GI testing exists.

For over 20 years, we’ve been testing foods using the international GI testing protocol developed by scientists around the world (ISO26642). In fact, we were part of the team that helped develop this global standard.

What does that mean for you?

It means the GI values you see from proper testing are based on real people eating real food, with blood glucose measured over time — not guesses or internet myths.

Our goal has always been simple: to bridge the gap between nutrition science and everyday food choices.

Because when you have clear, trustworthy information, it becomes much easier to make better decisions for your health and your family.
