The Delle Donne Family have been expertly crafting Zandam Italian Cheese for more than half a century. The processes and recipes that are still used today have been handed down from mother, to daughter in law, to son. Mauro Delle Donne, the current owner of Zandam Italian Cheese, is a cheesemaker at heart. Having spent many years in the cheesery, learning from his mother Iolanda, Mauro still regul

arly travels to Italy to ensure that Zandam cheese remains authentically Italian in every sense. Zandam Italian cheese is also proudly South African. Through the years our recipes have been perfected for the South African palette and has played an important role in establishing a love for authentic Italian cuisine in South Africa. Porcini mushrooms are the unsung heroes of many authentically Italian dishes.
Their depth of flavour, texture and gorgeous colour make them the perfect risotto mushroom. Nutty, intense and deeply umami - these are delicious!
Add in handfulls of fresh parsley, heaps of finely grated Zandam Caciotta and the kitchen skills of Tino Delle Donne, and you have heaven in a bowl...👌🧀🍄‍🟫

Fun fact - Porcini means little pig! How cute is that?

We adore this season.

Every year, at the Agri-Expo South African Dairy Championships, we get to show off what we love most... Our Cheese! This year, once again, our cheeses performed exceptionally well.

In the category for Mozzarella - Soft and Fresh - our Forage and Feast Fior di Latte Bocconcini was crowned SA Champion. Our Zandam Ricotta achieved the same feat in the Ricotta - Milk and/or Whey based-category.

And then our Zandam Caciocavallo and Pizza Mozzarella achieved second places, with the Forage and Feast Fior di Latte Mozzarella claiming a third place.
