A Tribute to Our father and Leader, Mr. Leon Slabbert

Dear Mr. Slabbert
It is hard to find the words to say goodbye to someone who meant so much to all of us.

You were not just our boss or the owner of Cuyler Butchery. You were our father, our leader, our mentor, and a part of our family. Cuyler Butchery was more than a workplace to us because of you — it was our home, and we were a family.

You believed in us, guided us, supported us, and stood by us through the good times and the difficult ones. You taught us so much, not only about work, but about life, loyalty, strength, and looking after one another. Your presence brought us together, and your leadership gave us a sense of belonging.

There are so many memories that we will carry in our hearts — the laughter, the conversations, the lessons, the difficult days we overcame together, and all the moments that made us the family we became. Those memories are something death can never take away from us.

We are heartbroken that you are no longer here with us. It is difficult to imagine walking through the doors of Cuyler Butchery and not seeing you, hearing your voice, or knowing that you are there to lead and guide us. There is an emptiness that words cannot describe.

But we want you to know, Mr. Slabbert, that we are deeply grateful. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for giving us opportunities. Thank you for caring for us, guiding us, and treating us as more than just staff. Thank you for being the father and leader that so many of us needed.

You may no longer be with us physically, but your spirit, your values, your lessons, and your memory will remain with us every day. We will carry you with us in our hearts and in everything we continue to do.

Goodbye is not easy, and perhaps it is not really goodbye. You will always be part of the Cuyler Butchery family. You will always be our Mr. Slabbert, our father, and our leader.

Rest peacefully. We will miss you more than words can ever say, and we will never forget you.

Please be advised that our Uitenhage stores will be closing early at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 29 August, so that our team can attend the funeral of Mr Slabbert.

Additionally, our Walmer shop will remain closed for the entire day.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding, support, and thoughts during this time.

In Loving Memory Of Mr Leon Slabbert. 🕊️

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mr. Leon Slabbert, beloved owner of Cuyler Butchery.

Mr. Slabbert was a valued member of our community, and his presence, dedication, and contribution to so many lives will be remembered with great appreciation.

Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, employees, and everyone who knew and loved him during this difficult time.

May his memory live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.
