🍔 FRIDAY FEAST 🍔

Kick off the weekend with a proudly South African favourite!

These Boerie Amagwinya Sliders are loaded with juicy boerewors, melted brie, crispy bacon, fresh rocket, cucumber ribbons, braai relish and sweet onion marmalade, all tucked into golden fried amagwinya.

🛒 Get all the ingredients at Pick n Pay and serve with skinny fries for a fun Friday-night feast.

🍔 Boerie Amagwinya Sliders
⏱️ About 45 minutes
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Makes 16

🛒 Ingredients:
🧅 Onion marmalade:
🧈 ½ cup butter
🧅 1kg onions, sliced
🧄 2 garlic cloves, chopped
🥄 ¼ cup white wine vinegar
🥄 ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
🍬 ¼ cup sugar
🧂 Salt and pepper

🍔 Sliders:
🍞 1kg shop-bought bread dough
🫒 Oil, for frying
🌭 1.5kg PnP Grabouw boerewors
🧀 125g brie, sliced
🍅 1 tin PnP tomato braai relish
🍬 2 tsp sugar
🥬 120g PnP rocket
🥒 1 PnP mini cucumber
🥓 250g streaky bacon, cooked
🍟 Skinny fries, for serving

👩‍🍳 Method:
🧅 Sauté the onions in butter for 10–12 minutes. Add the garlic, vinegars, sugar and seasoning, then cook until glossy.
🍞 Shape the dough into small balls and deep-fry for 6–8 minutes until golden.
🌭 Remove the boerewors from its casing, shape into balls and flatten in a hot pan.
🔥 Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, then top with brie and cover until melted.
🍅 Heat the braai relish until thick and season to taste.
🍔 Halve the amagwinya and layer with relish, rocket, cucumber, bacon, boerewors patties and onion marmalade.
🍟 Serve with skinny fries and your favourite condiments.
