UPDATE

Some good news🥳 and unfortunately some bad news 😞.

I saw the surgeon yesterday, and he was very happy with my progress and range of motion🙏🏻. I have today done my first 4 batches of rusks, and it went well. However, he said I need to take it day by day, but God willing, I'll be baking tomorrow and the next .....

I am therefore open for rusk orders.

The bad news is that I can not start with the sourdough breads as the batches are too big and will put a lot of pressure on my shoulder. My sincerest apologies to all my bread clients.

UPDATE

Unfortunately, it is proving difficult to get up and running again as I have realized that it involves much more than merely mixing and 'heavy lifting'. I saw the Nursing Sister yesterday and again she advised that the surgeon is adamant that I am not to pick up or move anything heavier than the 500g for 6 weeks, as mentioned in my last message. The physio is however going well.

I am going to try and do a batch of rusks next week, using my left arm only, but I am not hopeful 😬. I am missing baking but have to be sensible about the recovery.

This is just a quick update following my shoulder operation, last Monday.

The operation went well however my recovery period is longer than the initial 4 weeks advised initially due to the work that had to be done. The surgeon advised that it will be 6 weeks before I can lift anything heavier than 500g and 3 months for a full recovery. This has thrown me into a spin 🫣. I had my 1st physio session yesterday.

I am hoping to start up again next week, or the week thereafter🙏🏻🙏🏻, as I have two people who have offered to help me with the mixing and 'heavy lifting'.

I will obviously not be at Agua e Vide this coming Saturday with my breads.

I will communicate again once I have more certainty.
