HEALTH TIP: HOW TO GET STARTED - 2
Everything in this life is based on choices, even when circumstances show differently! So where do I start taking good care of the temple God has given me? I would like to do a short series of 10 tips on taking control of your own health
2. Increase your intake of LIVING FOODS
What is ‘LIVING FOODS’?
In the last 25 years of eating differently to most people, I have discovered a few things about food.
1. anything in the plant-based arena that is raw, unprocessed and organic is LIVING
2. anything that is cooked beyond 42ºC is not, especially when overcooked, scorched or fried to a frazzle
Why? Because foods that are not heat-treated retain their natural enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. "LIVING FOOD" often implies that food is still capable of generating new life, such as in the case of sprouted seeds, or planting the ends of carrots and beets and watching them grow. Someone once did an experiment with fresh rainwater, municipal tap water and microwaved water. Within the week the plant watered with the latter died, the municipal watered plants grew well, but the rain-watered plants flourished.
Below are a few items that would classify as LIVING FOODS:
• Sprouted Seeds & Grains: These are considered the ultimate "living" food because they are actively germinating, which unlocks high levels of nutrients. Examples include alfalfa, broccoli, mung bean, and wheat sprouts.
• Microgreens & Young Shoots: Very young leafy greens that are harvested just after the first leaves appear.
• Raw Fermented Foods: Foods that are lacto-fermented, which preserves them while adding beneficial probiotics. Examples include raw sauerkraut, kimchi, and miso.
• Freshly Pressed Juices: Juices that are low-speed extracted (cold-pressed) and consumed immediately to prevent oxidation.
• Soaked Nuts, Seeds, and Grains: Nuts and seeds that have been soaked in water to deactivate enzyme inhibitors, making them easier to digest and technically "alive" or activated.
• Raw Seaweeds: Wakame, nori, and kombu are often considered living foods.
• Raw Dehydrated Foods: Foods dried below 42°C, such as dehydrated veggie wraps, kale chips, or raw crackers.
PRODUCTS: I have been an AIM Agent since 2005 and am available to talk to regarding their products, and I also have a supplier of moringa.
HOME REMEDY: BLADDER INFECTION
Having issues with bladder infection? Drink a glass of lukewarm water mixed with two tablespoons cinnamon powder and 1 tsp honey. It destroys the germs of the bladder.
HOUSEHOLD HINT: AIRFRESHENER
Cut an orange in half and sprinkle both halves with table salt. It will freshen the air in your house!
GARDENING: PLASTIC BOTTLES
What do you do with your empty plastic bottles? I cut them and use them to put avocado pips in until they are well rooted and then plant them out, rather than using glasses and they land up being badly stained.
ARTICLE: HOW TO GET GOING?
So, you have decided that you want to start taking better care of your body? Well, it will probably depend on your motivation! If you are only interested in losing a few kilos any change in diet will help with that, but if you are really concerned about your health, there are ways of taking control of that!
2. If you are a regular at restaurants, here is some advice.
When looking for restaurants, look for the buffet or cafeteria-type where there is a wide variety to select from, then choose the best out of them all. Salad bar restaurants are a good choice. They normally have an abundance of fresh produce to choose from. They also have fresh fruit bars but remember not to mix your fruit and vegetables. When making a vegetable salad, make it as big as you can and from a wide variety of clean organic (if possible) vegetables. When choosing a dressing, if you do not know what is in those shop dressings, get extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and lemon juice and pour it over your salad, or add a bit of honey to the mix and shake it well for a delicious dressing.
When travelling, I would suggest that you make own dressing and take it with you.
At most restaurants the soups contain food from tins, with additives and flavour enhancers. If you are not sure either, don’t eat it, or ask the chef what it contains. Most restaurants will make you a clean vegetable dish if you ask.
While on the road, try grocery stores that are known for good fresh produce or buy the produce and prepare you own, depending on whether you came prepared.

As the Body of Christ Jesus, we so easily get caught up in thinking that because we are born again we are okay, don't have to constantly guard what we do and how we do it, never have to worry about obeying God's Word and Will for us as we are covered with the blood and anything we do is immediate...
