President HH accused of vote buying in Kabushi ahead of crucial by election

Information has emerged that President Hakainde Hichilema gave K10,000 to a family in Ndola’s Kabushi Constituency on Saturday, with only a few days before Thursday’s by election.

During his door to door campaigns, President Hichilema is also accused of dishing out K300 and bags of mealie meal to every household he visits.

President Hichilema is making the donations in the company of UPND’s candidate in the Kabushi by election Bernard Kanengo.

One of the receipients of the cash donation, Nyuma Ngoma who is a Deacon at Reformed Church in Zambia in Kariba area in Mukuba ward in Kabushi Constituency confirmed receiving K10,000 from President Hichilema when he visited his home on Saturday.

Mr Ngoma whose wife had recently delivered triplets said the money will be used to take cafe of the three babies.

He said he is thankful to President Hichilema for the gesture.

“It was particularly fulfilling to sit with some households and share the daily experiences by our citizens. Sat with a family that God Almighty has blessed with triplets. We committed that with my wife Mutinta, we will support the family in addition to the government support in form of free education among other challenges,” Mr Hichilema confirmed in a Facebook post.

But the opposition PF has described the action by President Hichilema as a violation of the Electoral Code of Conduct as it appoints to vote buying.

PF Copperbelt Provincial Chairman Bernard Chitondo has since challenged the Anti Corruption Commission to summon President Hichilema for questioning over the blatant violation of the Electoral Process Act.

“We have a President here who is flouting the law with inpunity and we want Musa Mwenye to tell his officers to act. There is an election in a few days and this President is bribing people broad day light,” Mr. Chitondo said.

On Thursday, people of Kabushi, Kwacha and Luangwa are expected to go to the polls to elect their MPS and Council Chairperson respectively.

PF DELEGATION ARRIVE IN NAIROBI, KENYA FOR INAUGURATION

A delegation of senior members of the Patriotic Front have arrived in Nairobi,Kenya to attend the Inauguration Ceremony of President-Elect William Ruto scheduled for Tuesday, 13th September 2022.

The delegation led by Patriotic Front Member of the Central Committee and Chairman of the Information and Publicity and former Minister of Water Affairs, Hon. Raphael Nakacinda, former Mines Minister Hon. Richard Musukwa, former Ambassador to Ethiopia and former Permanent Representative to the African Union, Emmanuel Mwamba arrived in Nairobi at the invitation of the Kenyan Government.

The Assumption of the Office of the President Committee said that they are expecting at least 2,500 VIPs during the event, who will include senior government officials from other nations across the region and beyond as well as members of the diplomatic corps.

US President Joe Biden on Saturday, September 10, approved a delegation of five to attend President-elect William Ruto's swearing in ceremony on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Meanwhile Mr. Nakacinda, who is also Member of the Central Committee said they were happy to be in Nairobi to witness the inauguration of a committed pan-African son, popularly elected by his people.

DEAR OPPOSITIONS TAKING PART IN THE KABUSHI AND KWACHA BY-ELECTIONS, READ THIS...

Ba opposition in Kabushi and Kwacha, listen to me. What is happening to Bowman and Malanji can easily happen to you at any time and if you allow the 2 by-elections to go ahead then you will be allowing the official birth of another Adolf Hi**er (dictatorship) in Zambia.

The upnd government is here to fix people and not to work for the people who voted for them. The best all oppositions and independents can do at the moment is to unite and withdraw from the race and force ECZ to conduct fresh nominations. If the ECZ won't call for fresh nominations then you all better let upnd be crowned as winners without any opponent, let upnd go unopposed, since that's what they want.

I can assure you, no matter how much the upnd will give you today, they are just using you to fight their perceived political opponents and one day they'll turn to you after finishing their mission on Bowman and Malanji. This is not the fight for Bowman and Malanji alone but for all the oppositions. The upnd should not be allowed to bring dictatorship to Zambia in the name of fighting fake corruption allegations.

As opposition, stand together and fight this deadly disease called DICTATORSHIP. Today it's Bowman and Malanji, tomorrow it will be you. The UPND should instead fight for a better Zambia, the cost of living is becoming unbearable every day, that's what we expect them to be working on and not fixing opponents.

Zambia is a DEMOCRATIC NATION, as a people, we do not expect upnd to change that status quo. Every Zambian regardless of their political affiliations deserves to enjoy the fruits of DEMOCRACY. Upnd must not take advantage of the people's quietness on the injustices they are doing to others as ignorance. Zambians know what is happening.

Let's not allow a group of few selfish and bitter individuals destroy the peace Zambia has been enjoying since 1964. We know the ECZ is being used by upnd but they should know that if ever Zambia was to go in flames one day then they'll be the ones to be responsible because they've allowed politicians to use them. ECZ must remain for all Zambians, we all need to trust them but in their current form they are not in any way inspiring, they are being used by the ruling party to fight others.

May all the oppositions know that upnd wants Kabushi and Kwacha become theirs at all costs and if you allow them to go ahead with these elections then know that they'll even manipulate the elections with their ECZ and give the seats to their candidates.

Let's show UPND that we are for democracy and not dictatorship, WITHDRAW!!!
