Straight lines are a very special case. There presence makes alot of significant assumptions possible.

In the realm of Pure Mathematics, some of them include the following:
alternate, allied and corresponding angles (among many others).

Here below we see such a case.
We are told; line l and m are parallel with acute angles formed. The line n is transversal cutting both l and m at some point. Can you determine the values of x and y?

Mathematics is the language with God has coded the universe, so some intelligent minds have put it.

But what does this mean?
What does this mean for us?

Mathematics is the art that spells out every occurrence in our universe today. Shapes, figures, motion, language, emotion, behaviour, structure.

Generally, there are two categories of Mathematics, namely;
1. Pure Mathematics - Solution for the sake of Mathematics itself.
2. Applied Mathematics - Solutions to real life problems.

Would you like to indulge in Mathematics?
Apart from being an academic discipline, Mathematics can help you cultivate joy and confidence.

Is Mathematics discovered or invented?

With so much symmetry and beauty, which one of the two positions is the best? Mathematics is so precise in its application. We can tell by simply looking at the mannerism in which the universe has been crafted. Furthermore, I think there is no reasonable mind that would not agree that Mathematics is a tool that works so well in achieving its objectives. For example; the laws of science are spelled out in symbols that appeal to maths, the shape and orientation of objects in our real world today run after maths, the motion of mechanical parts and segments of the physical universe can be described by the language of mathematics. It is in such a discourse therefore that we have arranged for ourselves this question for whence these things come.

In the recent past, alot of ideas have sprung up. Some claim the human mind is in itself capable of bringing out this abstract order whereas some argue that mathematics is a thing that is wholly separate from any human initiative i.e it can and will exist independent of human indulgence.

What do you think? Is the human so subtle that it can arrange such mathematical arguments or is there some higher mind in the universe somewhere out there that commanded these things to be. Kindly write to us here and let us dialogue.
