Picking up a package of It’s Wild! at the store is the final step in a journey that began hundreds of kilometres away, in a farming community.
It starts with a small-scale farmer growing crops in a remote community, often far from the markets where their harvest will eventually be sold.
Reaching those farmers is not always easy. Our teams travel long distances on rough roads, through mud and heavy rains. Vehicles break down. Roads become difficult to pass. A journey that should take a few hours can sometimes turn into days.
But getting there matters.
When farmers join COMACO, we make a commitment to create a reliable market for their naturally grown crops and to buy them at a premium price. Keeping that commitment means going beyond where the roads are easy and meeting farmers where they are.
Once the crops are purchased, the journey continues. They are transported, processed and turned into the It’s Wild! products that eventually make their way onto store shelves and into the hands of consumers.
So when you pick up an It’s Wild! product, you are seeing much more than a finished product.
