Meet the Founder of IAYSP 🕊️

International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) was founded on February 23, 2017, by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon — affectionately known to members around the world as “Mother Moon.”

Her vision for IAYSP is simple but powerful: “A global family of young people building a world of peace with true love.”

That vision is what brings IAYSP Zambia together — a community of young people choosing responsibility, integrity, service, and empathy (our RISE values) over indifference, and peace over division.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s peace messages and how they shape what we do here in Zambia. This is where it begins. 🌍

IAYSP Zambia at the Men’s Mental Awareness Workshop

Today, 20th June, in commemoration of Mental Health Month, the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) Zambia was honored to participate in a Men’s Mental Awareness Workshop organized by New Beginnings and The Young Boy Awake.

The workshop provided a meaningful platform for open dialogue on men’s mental health, emotional well-being, and personal transformation. Participants had the opportunity to listen to powerful testimonies from individuals who have undergone rehabilitation, sharing both the challenges they faced and the victories they achieved on their journey toward recovery and self-restoration.

These inspiring stories highlighted the importance of resilience, support systems, and the courage required to seek help during difficult times. The event also featured motivational messages and words of encouragement, reminding participants that mental health is a vital part of overall well-being and that no one should have to face their struggles alone.

As IAYSP Zambia, we remain committed to promoting a culture of peace, understanding, and holistic youth development, where mental wellness is recognized as an essential foundation for building strong individuals, families, and communities.

“Healing begins when we find the courage to speak, the strength to listen, and the support to walk the journey together.”

IAYSP Zambia Participates in Global ISCP Webinar on the Future of the Rules-Based World Order

The International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) Zambia was honored to participate in the International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP) Webinar held on 18th June 2026 under the timely and thought-provoking theme:

“The Future of the Rules-Based World Order – Where Do We Go From Here?”

The webinar brought together distinguished global leaders, former heads of state, diplomats, peacebuilders, and experts who shared their insights on the growing challenges facing the international community and the urgent need for innovative leadership to address today’s complex global issues.

Representing IAYSP Zambia at this prestigious international gathering was Vice President Mr. Clarence Phiri, who joined participants from across the world in engaging discussions on the future of global governance, international cooperation, peacebuilding, and sustainable development.

Distinguished Speakers Included:

* Gloria Macapagal Arroyo: 14th President of the Philippines from 2001 to 2010.
* Goodluck Jonathan: President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015.
* Anthony Carmona : 5th President of Trinidad and Tobago from 2013 to 2018.
* José Manuel Barroso: Prime Minister of Portugal from 2002 to 2004.
* Tageldin Hamad : International President of the Universal Peace Federation
* Franco Famularo: Global Coordinator International Summit Council for Peace

Key Reflections from the Webinar

The discussions highlighted that the rules-based international order established after World War II has played a significant role in promoting peace, stability, and cooperation among nations. However, current geopolitical tensions, economic inequalities, conflicts, climate challenges, and technological transformations are placing unprecedented pressure on existing global institutions.

Several important themes emerged:

âś… The Need for Strong Ethical Leadership
Speakers emphasized that leadership today must be grounded in integrity, responsibility, and service to humanity rather than narrow national interests.

âś… Strengthening International Cooperation
Global challenges such as climate change, poverty, migration, and conflict cannot be solved by individual nations alone. Greater collaboration among governments, civil society, youth organizations, and international institutions is essential.

âś… Youth as Stakeholders in Global Peacebuilding
Young people must not only inherit the future but actively participate in shaping it. Investing in youth leadership, education, and civic engagement is critical for creating sustainable peace.

âś… Promoting Interdependence and Mutual Prosperity
The future world order must be built on cooperation, shared prosperity, and recognition of our interconnected destiny as one human family.

âś… Reforming Global Institutions
There is a growing need to strengthen and adapt international institutions so that they can effectively respond to contemporary global realities while maintaining the principles of justice, peace, and international law.

IAYSP Zambia’s Perspective

As an organization dedicated to empowering young people to become leaders of peace and positive social change, IAYSP Zambia recognizes the importance of creating platforms where youth can engage with global issues and learn from experienced world leaders.

The webinar reaffirmed our belief that the future depends on cultivating a generation of young leaders who embrace dialogue, mutual respect, character-based leadership, and a commitment to the common good.

Appreciation

IAYSP Zambia extends its sincere appreciation to the International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP) and the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) for organizing this impactful and insightful global forum. The knowledge shared by the distinguished speakers serves as an inspiration for youth leaders and peace advocates around the world.

As we move forward, IAYSP Zambia remains committed to promoting peace, good governance, youth empowerment, and international cooperation in building a more just, peaceful, and prosperous world.

“The future of the world order will not be determined by power alone, but by our collective commitment to peace, cooperation, and shared human values.”

IAYSP ZAMBIA ENGAGES IN ANTI-CORRUPTION EDUCATION

Today, members of the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP) Zambia Chapter participated in an impactful Anti-Corruption Lecture organized by the National Youth Development Council (NYDC) in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Zambia.

The interactive session empowered young people with critical knowledge on:
âś… The nature, dangers, and consequences of corruption
âś… How to identify indicators of corrupt practices
âś… Legal implications of engaging in corruption
âś… The role of youth in building a culture of integrity

Young people were challenged to take a bold stand by:
🔹 Rejecting corrupt practices in all forms
🔹 Sensitizing their communities on the dangers of corruption
🔹 Reporting suspected cases through available channels
🔹 Earning success through hard work and honest means
🔹 Knowing the anti-corruption laws that protect us all

The ACC’s message to the youth of Zambia was clear and powerful:

🛑 RESIST. REJECT. REPORT. CORRUPTION.

At IAYSP, we believe that a corruption-free Zambia starts with us — the youth. We are committed to raising a generation of principled, accountable, and integrity-driven leaders who will build the nation we all deserve.

Together, we rise. Together, we build. 💪🌍
