“Eish Hausi kusvikira manje” — A Value Chain Lesson

Watch carefully:The boar is trying. Energy is there. Effort is there. But he keeps missing. Why?Because he is out of position. The attendant guides, adjusts, and eventually… success.

Business translation: In any business — canteen, butchery, poultry, piggery — effort alone does not guarantee results.

You must know where you sit in the value chain:• Are you producing?• Are you processing?• Are you distributing?• Are you selling to the final customer?

Trying to capture profit without being properly positioned is like the boar trying to reach the sow without stepping on higher ground.

You can work hard every day…And still miss the mark.Position yourself correctly.Align your activities with your place in the value chain. Then… success happens naturally.

Step up. Align. Reach.

Take us Vhaymas Enterprises for example - interesting enough, somebody said but you are always posting pigs and goats and dogs … we really dont know what you do …

Okay, here is the thing,
We’re not in the animal business……
we AUDIT
we STRUCTURE
we FIX,
“all” and “every” profit-from-animals businesses.

Well, goats and pigs are the tools 😉 so yeah we post them soo much …

In much simpler terms,
1. if you have a business - a canteen/fast-food cart/ restuarant or butchery/meat processing/abattoir, or pig-cattle-chicken-rabbit-goat-horticulture project, 2. you run it yourself
3. and maybe 2, maybe 50 employees
4. but then in the process you sometimes have inconsistent sales,
5. you suspect stock losses
6. and you dont fully trust your workers,
7. so you handle cash personally or someone else close.
8. At this point you are overwhelmed but still ambitious, so you have little to no record of how the business is performing on a daily basis …

Basically, you’re not running a business whatsoever. You’re literally surviving inside it.

We exist for that exact stage- when the hustle has grown… but the systems haven’t.
That is our client.

Sibling rivalry😄 all the piglets are feeding. There is milk. There is supply. There is opportunity. But look closely…Two are fighting over one position…

Not because there isn’t enough. But positioning decides who eats peacefully and who fights loudly.

Bringing it to you sir/madam, in your business operations right now…Do you control:• Production?• Processing?• Branding?• Distribution?• Retail?• Or just sales?

Because many people think they are value chain players…But in reality, they are just price takers at the end of the chain.

If your supplier increases price tomorrow —do you adjust?Or do you absorb? That answer tells you exactly where you sit.

Drop one word:Producer / Trader / Processor / Brand / Retailer

After watching this discussion quietly… here’s what we have concluded:

If pigs qualify… If goats qualify… What exactly disqualifies dogs…

And this is exactly where most business operators struggle — not with animals…

But with positioning themselves properly in the market.

They know how to breed.
They know how to feed.
They know how to vaccinate.

But ask them:
What business are you really in?
Do you even understand your business model?

Are you:
• A farmer?
• A breeder?
• A processor?
• A brand?
• A value chain player?
Or just someone selling animals?

Ma empowered… enyu aya haazive chinhu !!!

Because the real gap in our industry is not production knowledge.

It’s classification.
It’s positioning.
It’s strategic thinking.

Many operators are busy producing…
But very few are thinking structurally about where they sit in the value chain.

But hear this ladies and gentlemen, until you define your position in the market, you cannot:
- define your margins,
- your pricing power,
- or your growth strategy.

And until that clarity comes, debates about species will keep distracting us from systems.

And systems — determine profitability.
And That’s the real conversation.

Cute, right? 😍 Sometimes we’re this close to peace 🐶💤… and then life reminds us to stay alert. Whether it’s a loud noise or a stubborn argument, there’s always something that wakes us up.
Tag someone who needs a little puppy calm today 🐾… and maybe a reminder to settle down too. 😉

Let’s structure the discussion a bit 👇

If we define agribusiness as:
Commercial production + structured systems + profit orientation + value chain activity…

Then the real question becomes:

If someone breeds 50 dogs per year and:
• Tracks feeding costs 📊
• Manages genetics 🧬
• Uses veterinary protocols 💉
• Markets intentionally 📣
• Operates for structured profit 💰

Is that not animal production? 🤔
Does dog breeding operate within an agricultural value chain?
Or is it part of a separate companion animal economy?
At what point does it cross into agribusiness? 👀

We’re not looking for emotional answers — we want structured thinking.

Let’s hear from operators

25/02/2026

On a lighter note… 😅Pane azotibvunzawo manje manje zvikanzi:“Ko dog breeding, is it agribusiness?” 🐶👀Now that one made us pause. If agribusiness is about commercial animal production…And dog breeding involves:• Planned breeding• Feeding programs• Veterinary care• Sales• Profit targetsKo zvino… where do we draw the line? 🤔We’re genuinely curious what you think.Let’s hear from:• Farmers• Vets• Breeders• Agribusiness operatorsDebate time. 👇🔥

If you suspect something’s going on in your business, here’s where to start looking 👇:
🔎 1. Financial Visibility.
Can you see your numbers daily — not monthly?Daily revenue. Daily reconciliation. Daily margin tracking.

🔎 2. Inventory Discipline.
Every kg in must equal a kg out — sold, wasted, or accounted for. No mystery stock.

🔎 3. Cash Control. Who touches cash?Who verifies it?Who signs off?If it’s just “trust”, that’s not a system.

🔎 4. Clear Roles. If everyone does everything, no one is accountable.

🔎 5. Owner Dependency.If the business collapses when you’re absent for 3 days…You don’t own a system.You own a job.

We don’t fix businesses by motivation. We fix them by installing structure.
If you’re serious about tightening your agribusiness or meat value chain operation, don’t guess.Get assessed properly.

Comment “AUDIT” or DM us.Let’s identify the leak before it grows. 🔍

24/02/2026

Oh before we all get carried away, let’s talk about the real danger… Operational leaks.

the small small things we ignore every day.

• “ma off-cuts!! Ah,800g chete.” 🥩
• “Tino reconcile mangwana.” 💰
• “Vanongobatsirana pabasa.” 👥
• “Report? Tinoziva zvese zviri kufamba.” 📋
• “Ndozviita ndega, faster faster.” 😅

Sounds familiar ka? 👀
And the dangerous part manje, it all feels normal while it’s happening zvekuti Individually Zvinongoita kunge zvidiki.
But stack them for 6 months…

That “800grams chete” becomes a whole beast.
That “mangwana” becomes missing cash
That “ndinozviita ndega” becomes exhaustion.

And suddenly…you are saying “maSales aripo… asi mari irikupi?” 👀

the leak is SOMEWHERE inside your business . And That’s how profit disappears. drop by drop.

Let’s unpack break-even slightly and bring it closer to home …moivhirawo door kana yakuknocker 🤒

You sell stock worth $1,000 today.
Sounds good, right? 👏🏽💰

But your costs for the day are:
• Rent portion
• Salaries
• Electricity
• Transport
• Wastage
• Packaging
•internet
Total? $1,000.

That means you worked all day…TO BREAK-EVEN. No loss. But no profit either. Ko zvino problem iripapi? 👀

Most business owners don’t even know that number. And they’re inside celebrating sales.

If you don’t know:
How much do I need to sell before I start making real profit? you might as well stop calling it a business

Break-even is a boundary. Cross it — you win.
Miss it — you slowly bleed.

Stay sharp. 👀
