Jay’s Tong Jays Tong has grown from a need to get my life on track and a true love for the most awesome snack one can carry around. God is good.

Besides growing my main business Jay’s Tong, I’m running Sober Home and studying Counselling part-time. It was never an easy road but I am blessed to be surrounded by great people that have stood by me on this journey. These past few years have been remarkable, having met and married an incredible woman and been through huge personal breakthroughs. I have been sober for over 8 years from alcohol a

nd drugs. However, a couple of years ago due to an auto-immune disease I had to take anti-inflammatories and painkillers. By the end of 2018, it became clear that my secondary addiction was actually sugar and this was severely affecting my health and emotional state. I took a big step and began treatment for eating disorders. I have been sober now for 4 years from sugar and Myprodol. My life and health have improved drastically – I've lost a total of 30kg in weight, my chronic pain has reduced by half and I have finally been able to overcome my feelings of unworthiness. Working the 12 steps for eating disorders has filled the missing gap in my recovery and I will always be grateful to the people who pointed this out to me and made me take responsibility for my eating disorder. My personal relationship with God the Father has improved so much. Recovery is ongoing but I have learned that the only thing that will fill that empty space in my soul is Jesus.
