November is here! Are you excited for something new?

For 2 months I worked in this tiny space.
This little 25 sqm space where I put everything I had, my time, my talents my offering to the Lord.
Not knowing what is about to happen, and just trusting the Lord.

It has been such a journey. I started with this misison-vision stuck on my door: Deuteronomy 28:6 "Blessed shall you be when you come in, blessed shall you be when you go out."

Blessings don't necessarily come in beautiful packages. Blessings can also come in the form burdens and tears.

There were days my heart cried and bled. There were days I was filled with joy. It was all a process that I had to walk. Sometimes I would cry out to the Lord, "Where are You? Where are You?"

Some days I would force myself to be brave and move despite being downhearted. I had to lead, I had to make the decisions myself. Not only for this space but also for the kids. Difficult decisions where I doubted my every move. Should I increase the price? Should I change the recipe? Should I go pastry? Should I introduce gourmet? Do I serve rice? Or just sandwiches?

I must have asked a dozen chefs all over the world. And I thank you all for helping me decide.

Now the time has come. When God says "enough," then it is enough. It is time to close the chapter of this wonderful, dreamy experience of testing my skills - interior design, cooking, baking, leadership and business management.

So what's next, Gold? What's your plan? Honestly? My plan is to keep on dreaming big dreams for me and the kids. But ultimately God has the last say.

Looking back, I realize, hey, for 2 months I lived the dream of operating and owning a small cafe!
I actually lived the dream! 💗

And just like that song, Footprints in the Sand, I see how the Lord has never left my side every step of the way. In fact, He did carry not just me but also the kids!

I used to wear this old shirt almost every day to the cafe. It reminds me of the Lord's promise. He has so many promises.

For one like me who needs Him desperately, He always shows up. Oh me, of little faith!

I remember the story of Isaiah. I remember this when my used to mother tuck us to bed many, many years ago.
"Here I am, send me!" He offered himself to be a messenger despite his own inadequacies.
But God is funny. He likes sending small people, weak people.

So now it's time to close another chapter. And I have no doubt God will find more ways to use me for His glory.

In a world full of uncertainties and instability, the words "never" and "always" are precious. It offers a certainty and stability that we need so much.
But the Lord offers much more than that. He promises His Presence, His company, His comfort, His peace.
When the Lord speaks, you can be certain that His word is real. He never lies or makes promises just for the heck of it.
He speaks and it becomes real.
May we learn to trust in the Lord and His promises.

So one time I went to a place in Dohtonbori, Osaka and ate this cold soba that was nothing like I ever tasted. It was in one of those little corners packed with people. I dissected the taste and came up with this. Not quite perfect to what I tasted but definitely 99% there, with my own twist. Thought to share this with you. Tell me, how deep do the flavors go?
From the time it hits your mouth, then 5 seconds after, then 5 seconds after and so on... Then breathe in again, mouth closed, and tell me, what flavors do you taste? 👌🏼
