Farm family - we have been unusually quiet the last 24+ hours….
Our baby Electra has had quite the scary couple of days. Yesterday Electra asked to be taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital because she knew something wasn’t right. It wasn’t long before she was transferred via ambulance to Cardinal Glennon in STL. Unfortunately, while they know she is dealing with cardiological and neurological issues, they don’t know what’s provoking it and how to address it. Her vitals have been critically low and she hasn’t been able to maintain consciousness for very long.
Thankfully, my husband’s work pulled together to cover his shift and send him home to us. Our friends Josh Baker Kristen Baker and Tara Ham are holding down the fort taking care of the farm and animals and were taking care of Croix until my parents can grab him. It truly does take a village…. So grateful that I have mine.
Thank you for your love and support of our farm and family. Please pray for our Electra so that we can get answers and work on healing and for our son Croix that he can be at peace during this time (his sister is his world).

The runaway horses…. They continue to object to the living standards on that side of the fence but refuse to go back to the correct pasture. I am happy to have a stand off over this issue. I invented the stubborn refusal.

Friends, we wanted to share a quick reminder regarding our upcoming events. As a small business, we have to plan carefully for staffing, concessions, supplies, animal care, and event setup. In order for us to move forward with hosting an event, we truly need either RSVPs marked as “Going” on the Facebook event page or advance ticket purchases.

Unfortunately, we cannot financially prepare and purchase inventory based only on the hope that attendance will come together last minute. Your responses and advance support help us know whether an event is feasible to hold.

If you plan to attend, please take a moment to RSVP or purchase tickets ahead of time so we can confidently move forward and create the best possible experience for everyone.

We will make a final decision by Sunday on whether the event will proceed. Thank you all for understanding and for supporting our small business — we truly appreciate it.

Feeding two prairie dogs milk at one time is a special skill set that Preston has. They follow him around like a shadow and pretty much worship him. I don’t understand why ALL the animals choose him. Theories?
I think he is giving extra snacks.
