Love this picture of my husband Preston Adams-Chapman - he is one of the other owners of Applegate but is VERY behind the scenes unless it involves his animals or the tractor. But at the end of the patch days you usually find him looking out over the pumpkins and animals.

The view from the hayride is a simple beauty that not everyone sees.
I am lucky enough to have these 65 acres as my backyard.
This place is just special.

Barn cat taking her job very seriously…. In fact she has left me several dead mice as gifts lately.

The mini donkeys have finally asserted enough dominance to be allowed into the enclosure by the horses! Proud of you guys!

Just a collection of poorly behaved animals….
A normal day here at Applegate!

This new Great Pyrenees has such crazy bad separation anxiety it’s ridiculous. He has never been an outside dog and immediately jumps the fence and scratches in the back door… so he is inside but if he is left alone he cries and cries…
Gotta love Tu. Now to find a historically appropriate door. This was a modern door that should not have been here anyway!

Local farmers and friends - does anyone have quail of any variety and any Flemish or angora rabbits?

Now the goats think they get to play bucket ball too??? Are there any limits to what they will do???

Always feel so honored to be a farmer in America. I never really felt that way as a lawyer. I was and am grateful for my education and the experiences that it gave me and my children but I never felt truly honored to have that role.
Being a farmer - working with the land and animals - and bringing joy, food and experiences to the community can’t be beat!
