Meet David and Carol Chumley from LeCarland Acres.
When the to***co program wrapped up, David and Carol didn’t miss a beat. Carol had been setting to***co since she was 12 years old, doing it every year until 2020. When it was time for a change, they shifted their focus to pumpkins and fresh veggies.
The name of their farm has a lot of heart. Years ago, they started as LeCarland Dairy, named after their three daughters—Carmen, Carolee, and Cara—plus Carol's name and David’s middle name, Lee. Once they started growing produce, it became LeCarland Acres.
They have been part of the market family for 6 years now. Ask them what they love most about it, and they will tell you it’s simply catching up with the other vendors and chatting with the folks who stop by their booth.
What they bring to market:
• Tomatoes (Their best seller!)
• Cabbage
• Cucumbers
• Onions
• Peppers
• Pumpkins
• Squash
• Zucchini
Stop by the market and grab some of their homegrown tomatoes.
You can also stopped by their farm stand at 136 Grapevine Road.
