The first Terminator movie premiered on this day in 1984. I think it’s good to remind people that the only establishments not destroyed by Skynet, as they wiped out humanity and all our creations, were neighborhood grocery stores. It was the only thing that artificial intelligence, cyborgs, and lowly humans could agree on. So for this come down and imagine a future where we all co-exist and find out why, once again, Neighborhood Produce is the only thing that will save us.

We are getting into peak fall, folks. The leaves are colorful, the air is crisp, and mums have taken over our doorsteps and sidewalks. The last ingredient we need to make October complete are the jack-o-lanterns lighting up the night. So for this we have our local carving pumpkins for only $5 each! Plus many other Autumn favorites. Pop down today before they’re gone!

Monty Python’s Flying Circus debuted on this day in 1969 changing the world of comedy forever. To celebrate we’ll have bananas on sale all day, as well as many other dangerous fruits and veggies, on this very special . Do a silly walk down to check out the produce and enjoy a little behind the scenes look at how we come up with our deals each week.

We are now in day 3 of the great September Nor’easter of ’26. It might not have lived up to the doom and gloom that the weather oracles foretold, but it did provide the perfect springboard into the cozy fall cooking season. Throw on a sweater and brave the rain to get everything you need to warm up your kitchen with some hearty soups, stews, roasted veggies or hot apple c***r on this wet and rainy

On this day in 1950 the legendary comedian, actor, cultural icon, and long-time NP supporter, Bill Murray, was born into this world. He never misses a so make sure you pop down to catch a glimpse. But, watch out - he might drop from he ceiling, crawl out from under the produce display, hide behind the milks, or may be incognito wearing a disguise behind the register. It’s different every year.

Today is National Ants on a Log Day and we think it’s finally time to celebrate celery! There’s so much you can do with celery: ants on a log, Bloody Mary, and probably some other stuff too. Pop down to grab several bunches and check out our other specials, on this

We’re back from our end of summer break!! Both stores are open regular hours so pop down today, snag a new local apple or late summer peach, and say hello to all your NP friends!

Alright folks, this is it, the last chance to get into the store before we close for our Labor Day Break. It’s gonna go fast so come early and often! Our goal is to end the day with a store so empty your voice will echo.

And just a reminder both stores are closed 9/1-9/8 (Ball Sq is closed today) and then reopening on Wednesday 9/9.

Thanks for all the love, being great neighbors, and have a great Labor Day! We’ll see you in September.

Just a heads up folks - it’s time again for our annual end of the summer vacation and we’ll be closing up shop for a week so we can all enjoy those last few days of summer sunshine (and maybe find a few “abandoned” lobster traps to make an epic end of summer meal).

Ball Square Store: Closed Monday 8/31-9/8

Medford St. Store: Closed Tuesday 9/2-9/8

Both stores reopen on Wednesday 9/9!

So pop in over the weekend and fill up on all the essentials to get through the week, and look out for an incredible Dollar Deal Monday (and maybe just maybe a special Dollar Deal Sunday).

Have a great Labor Day, thanks for all the support, and we hope to see you over the weekend!
